Mini Rugby League

Welcome to the newset and most exciting section of the club!

Our mini rugby programme has been running since 2010 and our unbelieveable growth has meant we now to run sides at the following age groups:

Under 6 (reception & year 1)

Under 7 (year 2)

Under 9 (years 3 & 4)

Under 11 (year 5 & 6)

The players take part in regular training, led by fully qualified, experienced coaches hom are CRB checked. The emphasis of training is on the development of core rugby and movement skills through fun and innovative games. Training takes place:

Every Sunday at 10.00am on state of the art ‘3G muga pitch’ (unless fixture arranged) @ Pennine Way

Sessions are FREE!!!

We also participate in regular fixtures against other clubs all year round. At the minis level (up to and including under 11's) boys and girls can play on the same team. Under 6's play 'tag rugby' and the other age groups play contact, with the adult rules modified depending on the age group. 

In addition to the rugby side of things, we have an excellent committee made up of family members of the players. They ensure that mini's section runs smoothly, which includes the social scene, something we are proud of at Hemel Stags. Past activites have included:

• Pamper evening
• BBQ
• Quiz night
• Karaoke/disco
• Awards evening  
• Christmas meal
• Trips to kidzone
